This initiative is well underway with the full support of the school management. Vincentians gathered across the world to brainstorm and meticulously plan the project which, given its impressive mission has been dubbed the 'St. Vincent's Sports Vision' - SVSV
Team have been formed to design, construct, finance, maintain and grow the project. A phased implementation of track and field infrastructure and new indoor infrastructure at Fr. Oesch Hall is in progress.
A team of experienced Vincentian architects have already completed the design for Phase 1 of the project, which is scheduled to begin by September 2018. Design work for phases 2 and 3 starts immediately.
The total cost of the project is Rs. 10 crore. Six for the project itself and four for the maintenance and upkeep. Each of us is contributing 5000 or multiples of 5000 towards the Sports Vision. Some are paying every month. Others are contributing at one shot. The cheques received so far range from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 2 lakh. We are connecting with 10,000+ Vincentians. An avrage contribution of just Rs. 10,000 each ensures success.
The St. Vincent's Sport Vision is now in the stage of fund raising. We aim to propel St Vincent's to global level of sports education and training, and demonstrate to other schools what dreams an alumni can turn into reality. We hope to win your support.
We urge you to be a vital part of this vision by contributing, by encouraging, by participating in the Vincentables (get together) and by spreading the world amongst your friends from Vincent's and helping us raise the money to build India’s finest sports training facility compared to any other school.
This is a big task but nothing a coming together of true Vincentian support can't conquer. We will dare, we will do, we will win.
The school has opened two separate bank accounts to receive funds; one for contributions from Vincentians living abroad. Details are given on a separate sheet you can follow the progress of the SVSV project on facebook and through the school's websites.
It's bold mission: unite all vincentians across all batches for world-beating, country-leading school sports project. But hey we're Vincentians. It's how we roll. We've accomplished so much in our individual lives, coming together to pull of SVSV is well within our grasp.
